It was one of those situations when the lull in the conversation lasts so long, it’s uncomfortable
We needed someone to break the tension, and before I had the chance to think things through, I asked when the baby’s due
Well that just happened…
She’s not even pregnant…
I know there’s no escape…
Awkward - I raise my eyebrows and fake a smile
Awkward - It’s like the moment is trapped in time
Awkward - A one-word-sentence just won’t suffice, so….
I better think of something to say
I bump into an old work colleague, remember we don’t have much in common
“So how’s Emma?” -they broke up…
Understandably we don’t talk long, and we finally conclude the prolonged exercise of saying our goodbye’s
But it’s not my day…
’cause we leave the same way…
